Last issue I said I would talk about some of the interesting people I am meeting these days. I want to introduce you to Susan Eaton, a fascinating woman who was a guest speaker at my Breakfast Club. As a geophysicist and snorkeler, she has been part of three science-based expeditions in the Antarctic. She is founder of the Sedna Epic Expedition.
In July, 2016, ten women from around the world, who are both scientists and snorkelers, will join Susan to do research in the Arctic Ocean from Pond Inlet to Inuvik, some 3000 kilometers. It will take the form of a relay with one of the snorkelers in the water 24/7 for about three months. This is a ground-breaking expedition that will investigate climate change among other things.
